Just wondering, how many of you grew vegetable gardens this year? Do any of you who do grow tomatoes and other things do any canning? I scorch in the summer sun and because of that, don't plant like I wish I could. But the neighbors have been so good to us by sharing their abundance of home grown goodies year after year.
Sage LOVES tomatoes so much!!

Hopefully wehn i move back home next year i can give it a go...thought a bit doubtful about my green fingers...only one pot plant of mine has survived the last two years, the other 5 died!

I planted some stuff, but weeds over took my garden and we had a strange summer and my tomatoes really didn't grow well. I have watermelon out there that Isould pick, but I don't feel like going through the weeds. I planted pumpkins too, and I have no idea if one even grew or not.

Claire does not like tomatoes though, but I love them!!

I used to have a garden where we used to live. I tried to grow tomatoes but I didn't have a male and female together. I guess thats the way they grow, or so they say.. But animals ate my stuff so it didn't work out to well.. lol

My tomatos are all done :( I have TONS and TONS and TONS of Basil though - wow it wins the growing award for me this year.
I was reading up on how to preserve it.. I saw something about grinding it up in olive oil and using in cooking.

That sounds like a really good idea for the basil. I bet it's pretty too especially if you use and interesting bottle.

we "attempted" our first garden this year lol
buttttttt we didnt weed it.. so we got some radishes from it (which we dont even like lol) and some potatoes.. that Aaron picked and we BBQ'd..that were actually good.
Now the grass and weeds in it is higher than the plants lol. And some sunflowers grew, i'm guessing from the manure we used when we tilled it LOL
I think we quit gardening lol
